Active Sample ManagerSealTite (ASMST)
The ASMST is the world's only plate handling system that automatically seals and unseals microplates within an inert, temperature-controlled -20°C environment. The “ST” stands for SealTiteTM, the world’s first reusable microplate seal designed specifically for automation.
ASM ServerST
The multifaceted ASM ServerST module is the hub of the ASMST, serving as the interface between the ASM StoreST modules and downstream assay automation. All microplate movements in and out of storage occur via the versatile ASM ServerST unit.
The ASM ServerST does it all for seamless integration in a laboratory. It introduces microplates to the ASM StoreST using eight stackers, scans and logs the barcoded microplates, and positions them for sealing. The ASM ServerST has the capacity of holding 25 SealTiteTM lids and 45 microplates per stacker. Additionally, the module's complete inert environment ensures the integrity of the compounds.
To provide even more sample integrity, a stream of inert gas is delivered across the microplates while Hamilton’s unparalleled SealTiteTM microplate seal technology is applied to ensure that any residual oxygen within the microplate wells is displaced from the sample. Once sealed, the microplate is transferred via the exchange track, to a user-friendly location within the ASM StoreST module for short- or long-term storage.
ASM StoreST
The ASM StoreST allows for the storage of any sealed SBS microplate. Each storage module is a temperature-controlled environment of ambient to -20°C, using either inert nitrogen or dry air. Each Store holds up to 2,160 SBS microplates. Our system allows specific customer demands to maximize sample stability and integrity.
Three different models allow you to choose the right ASM StoreST according to your storage vessel and capacity requirements. As well, total automation provides on-demand access and eliminates user-error.
When samples are needed, the customer simply inputs a "pick list" into our advanced, yet easy-to-use ASM Manager software. The required microplates are immediately retrieved from the ASM StoreST unit and transferred to the ASM ServerST module where they are thawed and unsealed.
The ASMST has complete environmental control through sample introduction, storage, and retrieval for optimal compound integrity and stability. The ASMST offers modular, scalable storage capacity and throughput to support current and future needs.
Features &
Benefits
- Reusable seals―Our SealTiteTM microplate lids are reused which prevents evaporation, contamination and staff exposure, and additionally provides a cost-efficient solution.
- Flexible labware options―The ASM StoreST stores and processes standard-height microplates sealed with our unique SealTiteTM lids as well as all SBS sealed microplate options.
- Quick processing― Throughput rates of 100 microplates per hour can be achieved.
- Capacitance measurements―These measurements ensure each lid is positioned correctly and if not, will be re-lidded within the auto-retry function of the error management software.
- Lid assist fingers― Lid assist fingers precisely re-apply lids to nearly the exact same microplate orientation (within 0.01"—one-third the width of a 384 microplate wall) before the microplate is transferred into the asmStoreST module.
- Efficient thawing―Frozen microplates are efficiently thawed in a 96-position controlled thawing rack and presented for seal removal within the ASM ServerST.
- Storage flexibility―Users can select the most appropriate conditions for their samples: nitrogen or dry air atmosphere, and thaw temperature.
- Easily adapts to third-party automation platforms―The unsealed microplate can be passed to another integrated system via the module's hand-off arm (via the common exchange track) to HAMILTON's liquid handling MICROLAB® STAR Line, or to onboard stackers for manual removal. The module also has universal access to third-party automation platforms, making integration a seamless operation.
